There is a difference between “running a demo” of your product and “bringing the experience to life“.

Running a demo is mechanical, going through the motions, inward looking and unemotional. It also rarely works. A website does a better job at this anyway.

Bringing the experience to life is telling a story, with passion ❤️, focussed on your client and full of emotional triggers. It creates opportunities and business.

The art of the demo is all about the second. When you bring an experience to life you create ART.

You paint a picture 🎨 and engage with people on an emotional level.

My tiny power 💪🏻habit is that I always have a few songs ready to set and control my mood and motivational level.

Depending on the situation, my mood or energy level I put on specific songs to “trigger” the right mindset and attitude.

Music 🎧 is a powerful drug. And legal too. Flip into the right “program” within seconds. A few notes and boom 💥 – all ready to go.

Created a Jedi habit that helps. Use the Force. Us the 🧡 love for music 🎵…so does the lazy lizzard brain …press ▶️play.

Bruce Lee kung fu 🥋 move because todays song track is already selected and puts the lizzard brain on the back foot. Great move. Behaviour is heavily influenced by context. So create the context 😎.

Some straight to the heart blues 🎸 to get me on track. Shit to do, stuff to make happen. Forward motion 🚀.

Why should we wait until tomorrow what we can do today? You know what to do. No one is going to see you through. It is all up to you.

What I learned @ Barco Digital Cinema 📽️

Back in the early 2000’s I was working for Barco Cinema division in China. A unique experience and years later I value greatly what I learned.

  • The power 👊🏽 of intercultural teams.
  • The importance of co-creation 🤝 when making a strategic plan.*
  • Ways of creating internal buy-in with management🤵.
  • The value of brand positioning when entering a new market💹.

In 12 months we landed a multi-million dollar💰 contract that laid the foundation for dominant market share for Barco in ditigal cinema in China.

Working in a start-up venture inside a big company was both challenging and very rewarding. I highly recommend everyone to grab such opportunities when offered the chance. #offthebeatentrack #buildingabusiness.

Following this adventure I moved to Barco’s home cinema division which was the start of my journey in the smarthome and private cinema market…

The power of context

The key to getting people to change their behaviour sometimes lies with the smallest details of their immediate situation. The Power of Context says that human beings are a lot more sensitive to their environment than they may seem. It also says that small changes can have a big impact. Just like a business…

Studies on juvenile delinquency and drop-outs have proven that a child is better of in a good neighbourhood and a troubled family compared to a bad neighbourhood and a good family. This is another example of the power of context.

Pretty powerful and counter-intuitive to many of us. In ways we do not necessarily appreciate, our inner states are the result fo our outer circumstances.

We are powerfully shaped by our external environment. And features of our immediate social and physical world – the streets we walk down, the people we encounter – play a huge role in shaping who we are and how we act.

Now I ask you.
