  • How to be a linchpin – Seth Godin on Impact Theory

Linchpin by Seth Godin is one of the books that impacted me the most. It helped me find and refine “my art” as Seth calls it and serves as a compass to give direction to my thinking and actions. We can all be an artist and a genius if we want to. Now how powerful is that 💪🏻.

I invite you to listen to what Seth has to teach us. He is generous and wise. But do not expect quick fixes or easy answers. There are none. And you will have to be generous too…

In Linchpin Seth talks about you, your work, your choices and your opportunities to make a difference in the world around you. It is also about today and tomorrow.

Linchpins are all around us. Even if not always easy to spot. They are the essential building blocks of great organizations. They may not be famous but they’re indispensable. And in today’s world, they get the best jobs and the most freedom.

Check out this episode of Seth on Impact Theory or browse through his website. Probably the best investment in yourself in a long while.

  • Business models

I use the Business Canvas Model app frequently. It cristallyzes my thinking when looking at businesses and opportunities, while at the same time empowers design thinking* as I move forward with some of my ventures.

Highly recommend to take the online training modules (or study rather than read the book): Because as with all lightsabers you have to know how to use them if you want to be effective.

When discussing business strategies and models have a go at using the canvas as a common language to avoid confusion or getting stuck. And try to look for relationships between elements. Pretty sure you will enjoy the clarity it brings and key questions it raises.

*more on design thinking in a later blog post.
